1st January 2005 Windsurfing: Brogborough Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: 15 - 30 mph Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: 9 c Sea Temperature: dam cold Weather: cloudy, Max Speed: Distance Covered: Great start to a new year hope things continue like this. Went out on large board with 7m sail and my new gps :) Things were nice and comfortable in the morning but as the day went on the wind increased a bit so rather than change down went for a smaller fin in the board and bit more down haul, water too cold to spend time swimming with little board. The smaller fin helped for a while but wind got up a little more so had to get the smaller board out for a while, should of rigged a smaller sail too but was starting to get dark by now so stuck out with the 7m was very hairy in some of the gusts indeed Top speed on gps 31.1 mph on 7m sail and 150lt board! should of gone faster on smaller board but was so overpowered it just couldn't get a proper run. sailed a total of 40 miles A Great start to the newyear lets hope it continues this way! |
